- Install Internet Explorer.
- Download the plug-in you need to view the material on a Blackboard course site, e.g. RealOne Player, Acrobat or QuickTime.
- Install the plug-in.
Use Internet Explorer 5.1 for OS X, configured to use a pre-OS X helper application:
- Download the plug-in you need to view the material on a Blackboard course site, e.g. RealOne Player, Acrobat or QuickTime.
- Install the plug-in.
- Start up Internet Explorer 5.1.
- Select "Preferences" from the Explorer menu.
- In the left pane of the Preferences panel, choose "File Helpers" under "Receiving Files".
- In the right pane, scroll down through the list of File Helpers until you find the file format you want to review, next to the name of the plug-in you plan to use.
- For each of the file formats you plan to view, click once on the description, then click "Change".
- In the Edit File Helper dialog box that appears, select "Handling".
- Select "View with Application".
- Click "Browse" and navigate to where you installed the plug-in you plan to use.
- Select the plug-in and click "OK".
- Click "OK" twice to exit Preferences.
