Test Attempts

Unlimited or specific number of attempts

This option allows students to take the test multiple times. The status of multiple attempts is displayed to students at the top of the assessment. Select Allow unlimited attempts for students to take the test as many times as they wish. Select Allow <blank> attempts to indicate a specific number of attempts allowed. Fill in the applicable number in the blank.

Clearing of specific attempts

In the Grade Center, you can remove a student’s grade and allow them to repeat an assessment:
  1. In the Grade Center, move the cursor over the desired cell and click the downward double arrow that appears.
  2. Select Grade Details.
  3. On the Grade Details page, click the Clear Attempt button next to the desired attempt, or use the drop-down menu next to Clear to select the desired attempt to clear.
  4. Click OK.
Note that when multiple attempts are allowed, the grade shown in the Grade Center is only the one most recently submitted (not the average nor the highest).
